Why is it important to own your health?
“A wise man ought to realize that health is his most valuable possession.”
-Hippocrates of Kos, Greece
1. ) No one knows better than YOU what you need.
Your body is unique, most people would not dispute that fact.
2. ) Your beliefs can be reflected in your choices.
The choices that you make throughout life are also very personal to you. What you believe politically, spiritually, religiously, morally, and practically ALL influence how you view life and your role in the world, in other words how you fit in.
3. ) You get to emphasize how much or how little your health means to you.
The importance that you place on your health is a factor in all that you do, because if you don’t feel good you won’t do good work or good deeds. If you are too ill to work your profession suffers. If you want to maximize your physical potential, you will pay more attention and pay money to figure out how to best achieve your goal.
4. ) When you value something you treat it better.
The value you place on your health will also determine if you think it’s worth it to seek out extra care or specialized care that is not provided by the government.
5. ) When others see how you value your health they will pay more attention.
You will experience more consideration for your healthcare when you ask questions and have expectations that you are in fact getting what you need and want.
